Teachers

Teachers! Please let us know how you use the Media Burn collection in your courses or community groups. We need this feedback to show that our collection is of interest to the educational community. The more feedback we have, the easier it will be for us to get funding to create new educational features! We are also collecting syllabi from teachers who have used the videos, in order to provide examples and ideas for others in the educational community. Please contact us at info@mediaburn.org.

The Media Burn Independent Video Archive is a unique educational resource for use in classes on history, media studies, political science, American studies, and many other topics.

We are in the process of developing interactive features for use in all levels, from elementary to graduate school. One of the goals is to enable educators to share their successes and experiences with each other. Head on over to the forum and communicate with other educators and with us about whatever's on your mind.

Teachers who are interested in demonstrating the educational uses of mediaburn.org to their colleagues can request a free 10-minute Media Burn introductory dvd sampler. This dvd is an easy way to show other teachers what types of videos we have and the range of topics covered, and can help start a dialogue about ways mediaburn.org can be used at your school. Email info@mediaburn.org and we'll send you the dvd.

Teachers have mentioned wishing they could have custom dvds with the precise segments they want for their classes on them, so they don't have to mess around cueing things up in the classroom. If you would like to use a custom dvd in your course, email info@mediaburn.org with a list of clips, and we can create it for you. Each dvd is $24.99 plus shipping. Contact us for more info if your school, class, or department would like an educational subscription for dvds.
